With so many law firms promising to offer you the best representation, how do you know which one to choose? Well, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. In this article, we’ll provide you with a comprehensive guide on how to find the right lawyer for your truck accident case.

Look for a Lawyer with Experience in Texas Truck Accident Cases

Truck accident cases can be complex and require a lawyer with experience in handling such cases. Look for a lawyer who has handled similar cases in the past and has a track record of success. A lawyer with experience in Texas truck accident cases will have a better understanding of the laws and regulations that govern the trucking industry, which will give you an advantage in your case.

Check the Lawyer’s Reputation

When looking for a lawyer for your truck accident case, it’s important to check their reputation. You can do this by checking online reviews from previous clients and looking at their ratings on various legal directories. A lawyer with a good reputation will have positive reviews and high ratings, which is a good indication that they provide quality services to their clients.

Choose a Lawyer Who Communicates Well

Communication is key when it comes to working with a lawyer. You want a lawyer who is responsive and communicates with you regularly about the progress of your case. Choose a lawyer who is easily accessible and responds promptly to your calls and emails. This will ensure that you’re always up-to-date on the status of your case and can make informed decisions about your legal representation.

Look for a Lawyer Who Offers a Free Consultation

Many law firms offer a free consultation to potential clients. This is a great opportunity for you to meet with a lawyer and discuss the details of your case. During the consultation, you can ask questions about the lawyer’s experience, their fees, and their approach to handling Texas truck accident cases. This will help you determine whether the lawyer is the right fit for you and your case.

Consider the Lawyer’s Fees

Lawyers’ fees can vary depending on their experience and the complexity of your case. It’s important to choose a lawyer whose fees are reasonable and transparent. Look for a lawyer who offers a contingency fee arrangement, which means they only get paid if you win your case. This will give you peace of mind knowing that your lawyer is motivated to win your case and will work hard to achieve a positive outcome.

What To Do After A Truck Wreck

After a truck wreck accident, it is important to take certain steps in order to ensure your safety and protect your rights. These steps may include seeking medical attention, contacting a truck accident lawyer, and gathering evidence at the scene of the crash. With the help of a skilled truck accident attorney, you can work to hold the truck driver and trucking company responsible for their negligence, while also pursuing compensation for any resulting losses or injuries. If you have been involved in a truck wreck accident, don’t hesitate to reach out for help today.

Steps to Take After a Truck Wreck Accident

Gather evidence: While the police are at the scene of a truck wreck accident, they will typically take photographs and make notes about what happened, who was involved, and so forth. If you do not feel that this is sufficient information to document the midst of all the chaos and confusion that is likely to be present at a crash site, it is strongly recommended that you consider hiring an attorney to help you gather additional evidence. Doing so can contribute significantly toward proving liability in civil court.

Contact a truck wreck attorney: Talking with an experienced personal injury lawyer as soon after a truck wreck accident as possible can be incredibly beneficial. If you are able to gather evidence and start the legal process while your thoughts are still clear, you may preserve valuable information that could help strengthen any potential case or claims made in court. By working with an attorney who is knowledgeable about truck accidents and the special rules that apply in such cases, you will give yourself the best chance of successfully obtaining a favorable outcome for your situation.

Get immediate medical attention: One of the most important things that you can do after being involved in a truck wreck accident is to seek medical attention as soon as possible so that any injuries or illnesses caused by the event can be treated properly. Seeking immediate treatment after a crash gives you access to critical care that may not be available later on, and it also increases your chances of obtaining compensation for your medical expenses by providing documentation of the accident’s effects on you.

Research the legal options available to you: Because truck crashes tend to involve complex federal rules and laws, you will want to work with an attorney who is familiar with these issues in order to make sure that they are taken into account as part of your case. A lawyer can help you determine whether a claim against the trucker or a lawsuit against the trucking company might be most appropriate based on the facts of your situation, which can have significant consequences for any potential recovery that you may receive at the end of your case.

Work with an experienced truck wreck law firm: With extensive experience handling cases involving large commercial trucks, our law firm has the knowledge and expertise to help you get full compensation for your injury.

Prepare a legal claim: If you decide that filing a lawsuit is the best option for you, we will work closely with you to build your case.

Fight for your rights in court: If negotiations do not result in an acceptable resolution of your claim, we will represent you through every step of the process until justice has been served.

Juan Olvera, Cecilia Olvera Hit by Truck in Jefferson County TX

Jefferson County, Texas — 14-year-old Juan Olvera and 13-year-old Cecilia Olvera have been hospitalized after being struck and pinned by a pickup truck on Monday afternoon (02/10/2014) at around 4:15 p.m.

Accident LocationAccording to reports, the Hamshire-Fannett school bus was heading eastbound on Highway 73 when it stopped near Elgin Road to drop the children off at their home. The siblings had just exited the school bus when the driver of a pickup truck pulling a trailer (also traveling eastbound) struck them with his vehicle. According to the driver, 44-year-old Glen Travis Luckey, he did not see the stopped school bus until it was too late, even though the bus reportedly had its flashing lights activated and traffic was stopped. Luckey slammed on his brakes, the car veered right, and he lost control of his vehicle striking the two teenagers as they stood near the driveway.

Juan and Cecilia Olvera were pinned underneath the truck and trailer until they were rescued and transferred by air ambulance to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. The teens are reportedly alert, talking and expected to recover.

According to the Texas DPS, the driver, Glen Luckey, has been charged with failure to drive in a single lane, operating an unregistered trailer, and for safety chain violations – all misdemeanor traffic violations. There is a possibility of more charges being filed.

I’d also like to note that there have been some who claim that an 18-wheeler was also stopped on the roadway, and that Mr. Luckey had swerved right to avoid the big rig. The truck, of course, would be required to stop when a school bus is unloading. This would still likely mean that the pickup driver negligently caused the accident, as a driver operating under the rules of the road would be able to see and assess any stopped traffic ahead.
